CH Kara 3xW 1xL DeadGame

Kara was born on the 25^th April 1998. Her father – Jaguar – the son of the legendary GR CH Zwettler’s Mozes (8w) and Zwettler’s Grispy. Mother – sister of the CH Della.

Owner of Dusya (Dulsinea) didn’t have any relations with the world of pit-sport. He bought her for fun and kept as a sofa-dog. Once he saw the show of Della after which he made a decision to declare  his dog on match and also to prove everybody that she is not worse than her sister. So he put her in the pit. The fact that Dusya never had any contacts with others pits and only half a year ago gave birth  - didn’t bother him at all. Opponent for her was quickly found. It was unitary winner, daughter of Iron Kid’s, nicknamed Manya. In that match Dusya showed dead-game and after 1:20  died directly inside the squared ring. I took Kara from the Dusya’s owner. 1,5 month bright, pacey and pretty puppy was curious to everything and absolutely fearless. Remembering my first impressions about her, I admonished, that contact with a dog should be rather instinctive. When I came to their room, I saw the energetic fire-ball made of eight little tiny creatures, each of them received my attention and each had been pet. They are all mad about you, and gaily trying to scramble your hand, biting and linking. But in each new littermate always will be one that makes you feel something special.

The dog’s health starts forming in prenatal period. Being born, it has to be brought up with love and care. It’s the member of a family. At  beginning it is comparable with a child. You have to get up at night to enclose puppies to mother, than when the pups grow up it have to be separable cooking, multiply feeding. Like all other children receiving attention and care, pups sometimes play pranks.

Certainly, choosing pit bull, you have to pay special attentions on their parents lines and kennels owners. As we say, pups with the milk of a mother absorb characters and qualities of ancestors. With the help of  the correct matings it becomes possible to “kick out” defects and, vice versa, like in case with Kara that took from Jaguar hard bite, health and talent and from mother – unbelievable gameness.

If to take kennels in particular – everything is also simple. As a professional in the pit sport I’m keen interested in selection, parents lines, statistics of matches and the level of rates. Also very important is the direct dialogue with the kennel’s owner. For example, kennel “Small land” – the results of it’s work are tattletale than all words. Other criteria that I admitted earlier presented in the most bright way. And the owner differs with kindness. It’s a great pleasure to communicate with such person. Without excessive  diplomacy we can always exchange opinion about our dogs. Sometimes, we agree, sometimes – not.

The pit bull terrier is the only breed of dogs which working quality during centuries was readiness to go on till death. And I think it’s rather respectful. Unfortunately,  not everybody understands that.    Sometimes, observering dogs, with disappointment we have to mark that dog’s defects are allogenetic rather then congenital. It’s better to hold one or too  pits, but to give them all then divide for ten others. Dog is very harmoniously developed  being, it feels the attitude of a person. The results of this relations appears in critical moments during matches. With great regret,

I also know about the case like it happened in Lu-Lu’s match. I can’t remember the nickname of her opponent, but match was in Kaluga). She stopped during match but seriously damaged her opponent. Lu-Lu was absolutely in consciousness and never stopped before, neither on tests nor in rolls. I knew that dog didn’t receive  necessary attention and good training. All the process of preparing the dog for fight was lost, because her handler was totally in hobby and didn’t care about Lu-Lu.  

Then, when Lu-Lu was hold by loving owners, as we all know, she didn’t leave any single chance to her opponent. She demonstrated to her owner that she without any hesitation will sacrifice her life for him. Such cases are widespread among pit-men. The bright example of Iron Kid (10w, 1L) – in Yugoslavia he stopped after 20 minutes because he was presented in pit by someone unknown but exactly not by the handler. When he appear in Gomel with Victor Savich he became 10-times winner and one of the strongest fighters in Yugoslavia.

I’m truly convinced that  the first contact for a dog have to be when it’s adult, approximately 14-18 months old. That’s  why I started up Kara at 14.  It was my first pet-dog and I was impatiently dreaming to take her to the ring  and to appreciate her real abilities. She showed the style of fighter and demonstrated hard, destroying bite. The contact last for 15 minutes with total dominance of my dog.

Now, after many years of experience, after all dogs that lived in my soul I had come to conclusion that to start up dog firstly for a long time is not correct. It’s better to start up from 2-3 minutes and during several years to make 4-5 rolls for pitbull. And after that to make test and increase the time to 30-40 minutes. The dog receive experience, gets older and healthier. It also get used to the live of sportsmen and realizes it’s mission.

Kara’s first match was in Kiev. Her opponent, nicknamed Hera, had the blood lines of Red Alert and as for Kara it was her 1 match. Up to that moment I had already received experience  in training dogs and leading them to pit-weight. We had provided matches of Della, Djunny, Batman and other pitbulls.  It was first Kara’s match, not mine, so I leaded Kara for her debut  in well-deserved form.

It took Kara 22 minutes to win in this match. The opponent’s owner took Hera away when he saw how hardly damaged was his dog that she couldn’t even stand.  Unfortunately, Hera died after the match. Death of good dog is always a tragedy. But we have to understand that usually it happens because of negligence of the owner or because of his self-assurance. So we have to remember that we are responsible for the fighter. Don’t forget to analyze who fights. To avoid flying start of opponent you should take enough time for training, analyze the style of opponent and remember about the year seasons. If we create optimal conditions for our dog it will never let us down. Even watchdogs wins because of their owners.

Second Kara’s match was in Kiev. Her opponent Karma (1W) was bloodline Iron Kid. Karma had hard bite and rare working technique “in chest”. In that fight she several times broke Kara’s defense and damaged her pectoral mussels, many of them were torn off the skeleton. Later  on that injury played a decisive role in match with GR CH Holly. In spite of all strong sides of Karma, Kara overcame the fight and won after 28 minutes with the death of her opponent.

On the 3d match I was challenged by Dmitriy Ablizyn with his dog Seroshtanka. At that time she was considered as one of  the best fighters. I saw her matches, and should admit that I, like many others, was impressed by her victory. Bright individuality, experienced technique, hard bite,  good training and great gameness of Seroshtanka after 60 minutes left no chance to live for her opponent Blondy (bloodlines Iron Kid). Match with Kara interested everybody. It was in Belgorod and considered as international so the judge was Yugoslavian.  Frankly speaking, training Kara on Champions title had cost me a lot of energy and perspiration. To feed the dog last time before the battle,  we had to arrive in Belgorod 30 hours earlier. In the evening we weighted the dogs. Kara was overweight on 0,2 kg, but I was calm, because I knew that in the morning she would reach pit-weight. Match was arranged at 9.00 a.m. We weighted again half an hour before and I was shocked. Kara was overweight on 0,4 kg. We went to the post-office and made a control weight there. The weight was exactly the same. I’m grateful for Dmitriy that after he took penalty as it was contracted, he gave me 2 hours more. I ran up Kara till 11.00 and she returned in shape.

After 1 minute of fight I realized that all my excitement was absolutely useless. Kara confidently made her famous capture that greatly surprised Seroshatka.

I was also surprised by Dmitriy’s courage in pit. He didn’t take his dog away even after Seroshtanka on the 6 minute started annoyingly whimpering because she couldn’t get rid of Kara’s hold.

Kara’s victories attracted attention of many followers of pit-sport. She proved that she can be worthy opponent not only for dogs in Ukraine but also in Russia.

The owner of Hip-Hop Kennel during his visit proposed to arrange a match of the best pit-fighters. All organizational issues he took on his own. At that moment, one of the brightest females in Kara’s weight was Holly. By the critics of professional magazines she was considered as one of the best fighters in the Commonwealth of Independent States. «Match of the year» was in Moscow. That event attracted attention of all pitmen from Russia and all over the post-soviet area.

Looking back I can admit following. All professionals understood that both dogs were fighters, both had a hard bite and had the technique “in chest”. The final of the battle could be resolved only by one fortunate capture.

The command word – “START”.  With the great power dogs embraced each other in the middle of the pit. Holly was more fortunate,  she first successfully provide famous capture “in chest”. After a while Kara hardly took it off.  But I realized that my dog was already seriously damaged. After that dominance periodically turned from one dog to another. 30-40 minutes later Holly improved her priority. But even in spite of that she was whimpering after Kara’s bites. I saw her pain and from time to time it seemed to me that turning point would come and Kara would win. Her pleural membrane was already disrupted by Holly’s bite and left for Kara no chance. Match continued but damages influenced on Kara. Her condition became worse. During the last 20 minutes Kara lost consciousness of reality, was in shock, but went on with strong confidence to fight to the end. She was under the power of gameness. Match reached 1:10 and I saw that Kara is loosing her chances on living. I decided to take her away but allowed her to make the courtessy scratch.

Applause was her award. She received the honorable  title of the most gameness female dog of the year. Holly won. But Kara wasn’t the one who lose. I lose, making unforgettable mistake that taught me a lesson. It is impossible to make the battle where one dog has damaged chest and other works only “in chest”. Then was reanimation in the clinic called “Bella Donna” on Ryabinova Str. 24 hours doctors fought for her life and Kara showed again that she is a great fighter. She battled with death.

I’m grateful for doctors that didn’t stop intensive therapy even after her clinic death and returned her to life. Before match we had contracted with Radic the revenge-battle that could be otherwise with males or females. We wanted to check how correct we had chosen the bloodlines. The first match – revenge was between sons of Kara and Holly. Won Kara’s son Blackson. After that Radic challenged Blackson again. He fought with Lyova – Holly’s brother and defeated one more. Kara’s daughter Rada battled and won Holly’s daughter Tosya.  So I could say that Kara’s offsprings  proved the priority of their bloodlines.
